I'd park sideways and block the two lanes closest the turtle and rescue it!!!

What ok eather you see in the distance you swerve around it eather you go to the right on the break down lane or you swerve to the left to miss it or you you go underneath it you dont stop you just cause a accdent

Interesting .. I likely wouldn't stop by and help the turtle just because it's not safe to do so on a busy highway. I feel that the workers in the construction site should help it however since they're the ones already near it. Or at least call the animal control to help the turtle find its way home.

It is unfortunate when animals get caught up in situations like that, but people need to think about safety first. I mean, it's not only yourself you could have endangered by stopping. It could have caused some kind of accident that might have hurt others as well. As difficult as it is to just turn away, it's the better choice to keep going in a situation like that. If I had spotted a turtle – or any animal in trouble – on a road that was not busy I would certainly try to get it to safety.

I have done this twice. Once on a country road for a snapping turtle (used a 5 gallon bucket) and once in town for a painted turtle. It had been hit once already and the pads of his feet were damaged.

As much as I love and respect animals, I would not endanger my life or the lives of others……….sorry.

I definitely would have stopped, I'm such a bleeding heart for animals.
Just a few weeks ago there was a duck in the middle of the road that was trapped because cars kept coming from both sides. I whipped out my flashlight so cars would see me and helped her out without a second thought.

If you are safe in helping the turtle along, then do so. But if it came down to it, your life is not worth risking for a turtle(i have helped a few of the slow movers off of roadways, but on rural country roads with barely any traffic)

There have been stories of people getting killed from trying to save turtles. But I usually stop and try to anyway.
