Maybe because it was a needless death. If the driver had gone the way they were supposed to you friend wouldn't be dead now. His wife wouldn't be a widow now and his child would still have their father. It's only natural to feel rage over this senseless waste of a young live and to feel you have been robbed of a good friend that's why you feel sadness at his loss. Unfortunately you can't change the past and bring him back, so do what you can to help his widow through this terrible time in her life. I hope they throw the book at him the stupid S.O. B.

I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbor….it is indeed a tragedy.
Your feelings are normal, death is hard to deal with and it causes all kinds of emotions from extreme sadness to extreme anger.

I don't know if you have a faith, but if you do, I hope that you can find solace and comfort in the scriptures. John 5:28-29 is particularly comforting and offers hope for the future.

It's probably how you deal with grief… also it's unfair that a young man such as himself faced that when he's expecting a baby when there are several horrible people in the world still alive that don't deserve it… I am sorry what happened… my thoughts are with you and his family. x
